Most spas come with a hard cover — and most spa owners soon tire of it. They’re bulky, awkward and heavy, and wrestling one off and back on every soak is enough to make a spa feel like hard work. And when covering the spa is a chore, it happens less often — leaving expensively heated water losing warmth to the night air.
An insulating foam spa cover solves the problem from the water up. It floats directly on the surface in light, easy-to-handle sections, so covering the spa takes moments — and our estimates put its heat retention at a similar level to the hard cover it replaces.
A heated spa loses warmth from the moment the heater stops. An uncovered water surface sheds heat continuously — so your heater runs longer, works harder and costs more to hold temperature. Floating an insulating cover on the surface closes off that escape route: the closed-cell foam traps a layer of still air against the water and holds the heat where you paid to put it.
The result is a spa that comes up to temperature faster, holds it longer, and costs less to run. Whether you heat daily or fire the spa up for the weekend, the cover is working every hour it’s floating.
Spa Foam 10 (10 mm) -R-Value up to 0.28 m²·K/W – This is the easy-living choice. Its sections link together with simple supplied hinges — or float independently if you prefer — and the hinged cover folds up for compact storage beside the spa. Trimming to shape needs nothing more than a good pair of scissors.
Spa Foam 20 (20 mm) R-Value up to 0.57 m²·K/W – This is the maximum-insulation choice. The thicker foam is rigid, so its sections sit together on the water without hinges and lift off one at a time. It trims cleanly with a sharp utility knife — and it’s the version we estimate out-insulates most hard covers.
Every cover is built from pre-made rectangular sheets — combine two, three or more sections to match your spa, choosing your thickness and size from the options above. Rectangular suits most spas as-is; for curved or moulded shells, simply trim the sections to shape for a neat edge-to-edge fit.
Prefer to keep your hard cover? Use both: float the foam sections on the water underneath, and the two layers work together for even better heat retention than either alone.
